Keyla is holds a LMSW completing clinical supervision. Holding degrees in Social Work, Keyla graduated from Texas State University Summa Cum Laude in their undergraduate studies before going on to graduate with a 4.0 in their Master’s program. Keyla is also trained in DBT and TF-CBT. To add, they also hold a degree in Automotive Technology and Engineering. Keyla is a lifelong learner and plans to continue their educational journey by pursuing their doctorate as they believe there is always something new to learn just around the corner.

Keyla comes from an Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization (PHP) background where they have worked intensely with acute teens and their parents for the past two years. There they taught Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills groups and ran wellness therapy groups aimed at helping teens learn to regulate their emotions and tolerate distress while finding their “spark”. In conjunction, Keyla worked with parents, teaching them DBT skills to better assist with effective parenting while also reconnecting with their own spark. See, Keyla believes that everyone has a spark of joy within them, some just have to fan the flames a little harder to get that spark to a raging fire. They also have knowledge of Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT-TF) and utilizes Motivational Interviewing and Socratic Questioning to assist clients in igniting their spark. Everyone should be afforded the opportunity to get to the life they want and deserve to live.

In their free-time, Keyla enjoys going to car shows, riding motorcycles, photography, playing the drums, and crafts (painting, sketching, and just doodling away). Keyla also takes pleasure in playing video and board games with family and friends! Keyla loves sports and was once an avid martial artist and played women’s professional football where they led the league in QB sacks!
